Topics
Planning a journey
Do I need to know where I want to go before I contact you?
No. Many travellers come to us with a feeling, a season or a reason to travel. Tell us that and we will suggest where.
Do you sell fixed packages?
No. Every journey is built from scratch around the person taking it. The journeys on this site are examples of what we have created, not products.
Which countries do you plan journeys in?
Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Egypt, Mauritius and Madagascar. Many journeys combine two.
How does the process work?
You tell us what matters, we design a first itinerary, we refine it together, then we coordinate everything and look after you on the ground. See how it works.
Budget and payment
Can you work with my budget?
Yes. Spend changes the accommodation, the transport and the access. It does not change how carefully the journey is planned or how you are looked after.
Are international flights included?
No. We can suggest routes, and we ticket Kenya Airways and selected domestic airlines.
On the journey
Who will guide us?
A certified guide who knows the country and its wildlife. Guides speak English, and other languages can be arranged. Many have been with us for more than a decade.
What vehicles do you use on safari?
Safari Landcruisers and minibuses with roof hatches for game viewing, each with a radio, a cool box and a first aid kit.
Can you cater for dietary requirements?
Yes. Tell us in advance and we will let every property on your route know.
How does tipping work?
Tips are at your discretion. As a guide, US$5 to 10 per person per day for your guide and US$2 to 5 for porters and waiters.
Before you travel
Do I need a visa for Kenya?
Kenya uses an electronic travel authorisation, the eTA, applied for online before you fly. See Travel Information.
Which vaccinations do I need?
A yellow fever certificate is required if you arrive from a country where yellow fever occurs. Anti-malarial medication is recommended. Please confirm with your doctor.
How much luggage can I bring?
Light aircraft allow 15 kg per person in soft bags. Extra luggage can be stored at our Nairobi office.
What should I pack for safari?
Neutral colours, layers for cool mornings and a hat. Camouflage clothing is illegal in Kenya. The full list is in Travel Information.
